Winner - 2025 Australian Park of The Year

20/11/2025

We are proud to share that our constructed project, Old Menangle School Site has been awarded 2025 “Australian Park of the Year” by Parks & Leisure Australia (PLA) at the PLA National Conference Awards of Excellence on 11 November 2025.

This is the 4th award this project has received! This honour follows its “NSW Park of the Year” win at the NSW/ACT Parks and Leisure Regional Awards of Excellence and the “Highly Commended - Built Conservation” award at the 2025 NSW National Trust Heritage Awards in June 2025. Growth Civil Landscapes also received a Gold award for Commercial and Civil Construction $1.5m-$4m at The Landscape Association NSW /ACT Landscape Excellence Awards for our work on the Old Menangle School Site in November 2025.

The project, constructed in 2023 and officially opened in 2024, has transformed the former school grounds into a welcoming community destination featuring a renovated heritage school building, inclusive playspace, community garden, amenities and BBQ facilities. The site honours its’ heritage while offering modern and accessible facilities for all ages. It has quickly become a destination that Wollondilly residents can be proud of.

Proudly built on behalf of Wollondilly Shire Council, this project was a collaborative effort alongside Civille, G3 Architecture and Sue Rosen Associates.

We’re honoured to have been part of bringing new life to this piece of local history and grateful for its' recognition.
