Wide open natural parklands, meets a brand-new world of adventure to explore with the recreation of Kanahooka Park Playground beside the spectacular Koonawarra Bay!
Featuring an approximate 30m flying fox, contemporary play equipment, climbing structures, ground level trampolines and water play area, the construction of Kanahooka Park has created an exciting and delightful place for families to discover!
With the use of natural elements such as the sandstone logs for garden retaining walls and park seating, together with the enormous timber tee-pees for climbing, this Playground has an enchanting old-world charm feel with all the modern essentials.
The water play area features a child friendly galvanized steel hand pump with multi-level catchment trays and waterfalls, overflowing into the newly constructed dry creek bed – perfect for hot summer days! Alongside, are individual geometric shaped ground level trampolines offering hours of energetic fun!
The construction works also included demolition of existing playground, excavation, earthworks, grading and levelling; installation of sandstone garden edges, sandstone logs and shade sail; supply and installation of drainage pit and associated stormwater works; installation of a dry creek bed; coloured concrete and exposed aggregate footpaths; new concrete edges to match existing; rubber softfall throughout; coordination of all playground equipment installation including the installation of a water connection to the water play area, complete with softworks (plants, turf and mulch).
