New Trail, New Adventures!

Garie Headland Track, Royal National Park
NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service

Garie Headland Track is looking spectacular and ready for its’ close-up! Enjoy sweeping views along the newly constructed section between Garie Beach and Little Garie in the Royal National Park.

Great news for hikers — the southern portion of the Garie to Little Garie Track has been realigned and is now open to the public. This upgraded section forms part of the iconic Royal Coast Track, linking Bundeena to Otford. The new inland route guides walkers from Garie Beach up and over the headland before descending to Little Garie Beach, avoiding the unstable cliff base.

Our track improvement works for NPWS included installing sandstone stairs, a creek crossing with stepping stones, lookouts and landings, stone paving, crushed sandstone paths, drainage as well as elevated steel FRP walking platforms.

This safer, more scenic route is sure to become a bushwalkers’ favourite!
