Play-based learning has hit the ground running for the children of Fairfield Preschool who are engaging in the natural and purpose built elements to explore and engage!
Fairfield City Council are providing vital services for local families, and with this new play space creation, it is a wonderful, forward thinking addition to the community. Foster a thriving, safe and friendly community with people who support and respect one another, with the vision of an area proud to live, invest and prosper together, is the focus of Council.
Primary works include the construction of new timber decking, timber path and sandpit, installation of sandstone boulders and steppers, bamboo screen fencing, embankment slide and waterpump play equipment, construction of timber logs and path, installation of softfall rubber mound, synthetic turf, concrete and timber edging, concrete pavement with line marking, complete with installation of a garden shed. Existing garden bed areas were cultivated and composted, together with installation of plants and native leaf woodchip mulch.
Initial site preparation works included soil erosion control, soil and water management measures, traffic and pedestrian management, signposting and temporary fencing, together with the protection of trees and existing structures to be retained. Materials extracted from site were stockpiled, reused or recycled where possible in line with our Company’s environmental procedures, with onsite security provided for concrete pours and softfall.
