Dan Michel wins Silver!

03/09/2024

Have you seen the news? Australia’s Boccia competitor Dan Michel has just won a Silver medal at the Paralympic Games in Paris today!! Dan, who was competing in the Men’s BC3 classification with his ramp assistant Ash Maddern, has just made Australian Boccia history by being the first male to reach this level. They previously won a Bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 in the mixed individual BC3, which was Australia’s first Paralympic Boccia medal in 25 years.

Next up is the Mixed Pairs BC3 Boccia Competition! Dan and partner Jamieson Leeson are ranked No.1 in the mixed BC3 pairs. They will compete tonight against France in the Pool A preliminary match and then tomorrow against Japan.

Boccia is a precision target ball sport similar to lawn bowls. The aim of boccia is for athletes in a wheelchair to propel leather balls as close as possible to a white ball or “jack”.

We are proud to once again be a corporate supporter of Daniel and are excited to follow his performance in Paris!

Congratulations on your Silver medal Dan, along with your ramp assistant Ash Maddern, in this awe-inspiring competition!

Go Daniel! Go Australia!
